What got you into the business in the first place? 

I met a CBS-TV camera man in Michigan and he invited me to sports events such as the Detroit Gran Prix and NASCAR. In each instance I was able to go into the television truck and go to the winners circle at the end of the race.

Who was a big influence in your career?

Bob Costas, I wanted to be a sports writer and television broadcaster. Needless to say I did not do either, but I have enjoyed the writing and the marketing aspect of public relations.

What was “your finest moment”, the thing you’re most proud of?

Personally, when my daughter was born and being fortunate to stay on my career path and grow from my experiences.

Is there a great client story you’d care to share?

Anytime I can get media attention for a client is a success story.

What attracted you to Adstrategies?

The opportunities and working for clients and with media.

Do you have a method of coming up with ideas and solutions for clients?

Research, studying the client, the climate surrounding the business, trends and brainstorming for an idea.

What makes a great brand?

One that is easily recalled.

What driving career goals do you still have?

Own a bed and breakfast.

What talent do you wish you had?

The ability to meditate and relax.

If you had to live on a desert island, what would you miss most?

Sunscreen.

Is there any food that helps you think more creatively?

Sushi.

What’s your favorite sports team?

There is not just one team. All Detroit teams, Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens.

What frustrates you the most?

People who do not listen, nor have an open mind.

What was growing up like for you?

Great, I lived near lakes in Michigan and there was always something to do outdoors. Traveling was a highlight to 46 states as a child during a 3-month-long camping trip.

What’s your favorite TV program?

Chuck and Bones

What do you do for a good time when you’re not working?

Spend time with friends, read and go outdoors.

What was college like for you?

Long, but I finished with a BS and some MBA classes.

Google as a search engine for research. That leads to all else…
